macOS Sequoia was released by Apple on Monday 16th September 2024. The IT Team at Gen3 Marketing tests pre-release versions of macOS as part of our internal beta testing program before they become available to the wider user base.
All software pre-installed or offered in the Self Service application rolled out on Gen3 Marketing owned Mac's is fully compatible with macOS Sequoia 15.1.

Updating your Mac
Your Mac will be automatically updated to Sequoia in the coming days. When the update is ready to be installed on your device, you will be notified with the following notification.
The update will take between 10 to 30 minutes to install depending on your Mac's hardware specifications.
Gen3 Marketing enforced changes in macOS Sequoia
As part of rolling out macOS Sequoia to our Mac user base at Gen3 Marketing, there are some changes being brought in by Gen3 to how you access company resources on your Mac.
JAMF Trust: -
As part of this rollout, we are activating the JAMF Trust application on company owned Mac's. If the application has been activated, you will see the following icon in the menu bar;
To see if the application is active, click the icon above and you will see the following popup;
If it is showing as "You're all set", then you are good to go. If you see any other messages above, for example, the "Welcome on board" message below;
Click the Enable button and you are good to go.
Please ensure you have the JAMF Trust application enabled. If you do not and you try to login to any Microsoft 365 service, you may see the following when you try to login.
Apple enforced changes in macOS Sequoia
Apple have also introduced some security changes in macOS Sequoia for you to be aware of. For example, if you use Google Chrome on your Mac, you may see the following notification pop up on your screen;
This allows Chrome to search for Google TV or Chromecast devices on your local network so it can be allowed.
Another example you may see in macOS Sequoia is the following example regarding screen recording;
We are currently working to update all our applications so that you are unlikely to see the notification. If you do, read the notification to determine the software requesting the permissions then click Allow if you are happy to do so.

Coming Soon: -
You will soon be able to schedule the date and time of any future macOS updates. When the macOS 15.2 update becomes available, you will notice a Schedule Restart button in the macOS update notification.
When you click Schedule Restart, you will be presented with the following notification which will allow you to choose a date and time which works for you. Once you are happy, click Schedule Restart.
When you get to within two hours of the scheduled restart time, you will start to receive the following notification.
You can dismiss the notification and it will then popup 60 minutes before the restart time, then again at 15 minutes and 5 minutes. You can also choose to reschedule the update if the time no longer suits you. To do this, click the Reschedule button. You will then see the following notification.
From there you can reschedule the update up until the deadline specified in the notification.
